Every day I hear people asking the same question: where do I put my money? The FTSE 100? The S&P 500? Forex? Bitcoin? Let me tell you about a far better investment, especially if you're starting out, still in a job, and want to try something.
It's low risk, high return, and almost nobody talks about it. Take £100, and pay someone for a few hours of their time.
What you do with those hours
Get them to help you film a video. Turn that into an asset for your personal brand. Think about it: for £100, how long does that video stay online, working for you? Most of us massively underestimate the benefit of having good content out there.
Say you're an accountant and people keep asking you the same questions. Film short videos, five to ten minutes, answering them. Even badly edited, even imperfect, it doesn't matter. People share it, pass it around, and you become the person who explained the thing clearly.
My own first investment of this kind
My first one was £50. I was a student, broke, and I paid a cleaner to come and tidy my room. Picture the guilt and shame of that: you're a skint student, and you're paying someone to clean your house.
But thinking back, it was never about the cleaning. It was about the two, three, four hours I bought back. In that time I built my brand, I worked on my websites, I created digital assets. And those assets are still relevant today. They're still part of my ecosystem, still paying me back.
The takeaway
So take your £50, or your £100, and do something with it. Buy back your time, and build something that lasts.
